I was not aware that they came with a two tone like that. Does it have a paint code on the trim tag? I'm curious what the code is.

Default color code

I had to have some touch-up paint special made since Chevy dosen't make this color anymore. The numbers on the bottles are: DDL3474 Beige, and DDL3446 Dark Bronze Poly. I hope this helps . I'd love to know how many of this color was produced in '81'. How would I check on this?. There are also OEM:74, and OEM:50 for the color codes.

Very nice! I partial to the two-tone cars and you can tell...

The color numbers for your car are 50/74, Beige over Dark Bronze. Also unique to your car are the bronze tops rather than the silver blueish ones on the other cars. I use the Corvette Black book as a reference. They don't have the breakdown by color for the 81's, only the total numer of two-tone cars. For 1981 40,606 Corvettes were produced, 5,352 were two-tone cars; a $399 option, RPO code D84.

Default fine 81

I also have a 81 with 84k miles. I like the look of this year with the built-in wing. some of my issues I have dealt with, 25 years of grime in the engine compartment, corroded electrical connections at the power window motor, a/c connections, rusted vacume doors, had to replace every bushing for that new car ride, replaced the entire brake system. I could go on forever. But I love my car.

My baby only has 31k, and was stored in a Heat, Humidity, and Hepa filtered garage since '86' . It was never driven in the rain, and even had special inserts for the floor so your feet never touched the carpet . The owner has 24 other cars in this garage and only sold this one because he bought his wife a 64 red corvette.....lucky her, and me . I'll send pics of the engine compartment since it is as clean as the outside of the car. Thanks for all the compliments

Good looking car…

I like the two tone. What color is the cheat line? Is it yellow or orange?

The cheat line is orange & brown. Good news, I got my wifes starter in her Blazer today, now I can store my show PT-Cruiser again . Since the Vette dominates the garage, I told her I'm not going to play musical cars in the drivway . So my Nephew has a pole barn, the Cruiser goes there till furter notice. It's a 2003 and only has 7400 miles on it, and very, very clean.
