Default Vent ball orientation

I am replacing my Vent ***** and the vent ball controls. My question is, which way were they orientated from the factory?

What is the correct orientation of the vent *****? One side has two fins and is the one I see showing in pictures of corvette interiors as exposed / out. The other side has three fins and in my AIM shows as the side that needs to be exposed / out.
Thank for any help.

The three finned side needs to be exposed out.

Good luck,
Dino

I think I'm missing something here. The vent ***** will turn a full 360. Doesn't matter how you actually install them, you can turn them to get the look you want.

Right? At the least, I can turn them in my '68 and could turn them in the '74.

I'm with Easy Mike. Is this a trick question?

I knew that they rotate. I knew it did not matter for the installation, but it would matter for the ones I buy.
CC, Ecklers, Zips and Wilcox sell them where the middle fin’s edge is not chrome. So if this is the side that is supposed to be showing I will have keep looking for a correct made Vent Ball. I have not found a correct one yet.
Any suggestions
