Sounds like the micro switch that is mounted to the headlight assembly.

Probably not a defective switch ... sounds more like the headlight cover
bouncing around. More likely headlight cover bushings or weak actuator.

thats wut i needed but

DIAGNOSSIS TIME!!!!! when there closed is when i looked under there at the sensor, i realized that the sensor dosent touch ANYTHING when its in the dwon possition, so what could be causing my "head lamp" light to be constantly on, untill i hit a bump, then if flickers on and off........i thought it was the sensor, but it touches nothing

That switch works in the up or open position not the down position. That switch provides a path to ground but is not used when the headlights are down.I think the problem is in the headlight switch. Its pretty simple the light on your dash has 2 wires going to it.One is the light blue and it is hot only when the headlight switch is on.The other is white with a dark green tracer and that is the ground for the light. The w/dg wire is always grounded until the headlights are in a full up position.----The LB wire must be getting 12 volts on the bumps causing the light to flicker.Hope this helps.

so where is the LB wire getting the 12 volt, just a bad switch letting volts through when its jared? or a bare wire somewhere?

My guess would be a bad switch but if you unplug the connector at the headlight switch and it still does it then I would look into your bare wire theory. If it doesnt do it then its a bad switch because thats where the LB originates and gets its 12 volts. The ground side of the headlight warning light is supposed to be grounded until the headlamp bucket is in the full up position.

You will have to find where the electrical "break" is occurring in your wiring system. It could be a faulty: headlight switch, sensor switch, a a broken power wire, or a faulty ground connection. Use an inexpensive volt-ohmeter to determine which is at fault.

Can someone explain more about the sensor, my left side one is broken and dangling from the wires. What is happening because it is broken off? Does it change anything in the lights or in the lift mechanism. I hav bugs in my headlight system and I guess this could be the problem.

The switch turns on the headlamp warning light on your dash. When you pull the headlight switch, there will be a redlight on the dash until the headlights reach the full up position and then the warning light will go out.

Lights off.

Lights on.

Your "dangling" switch is accidentally closing at random, which makes the dash light go out. Reinstall the switch correctly, or purchase a replacement and install it per the A.I.M.

So it only affects the dash light not the opeation of the lift or actual head lamps. Does this mean if the sensor is working the headlamps won't come on if the healdights are down?
