Default Long Tie Wraps?

Does anyone know where to purchase those long tie wraps that go thru the radiator to secure the electic fans and shroud to the radiator? I have the camaro electric fan bracketed to the radiator support and want to install my Volvo electric fan and shroud to the car. Are these tie wraps alright? will they damage the radiator? I have rubber cushioned all the areas where the shroud would touch the radiator.

The local advanced auto parts here in town stocks them, I've bought a set off ebay too....

I've used them on several vehicles with no problems, but a lot of people don't like them.

That will work, but I would rather use a bracket to mount with. The problem is a tie wrap is not a solid mount and it will move a bit, eventually maybe causing some wear and maybe a leak. I am useing 2 pieces of aluminum angle to mount mint to the upper and lower of the radiator instead of going thru the tubes. Home Depot or any good electrical supply will have the long tie wraps.

go to your local Lowes, to the electrical dept. They have them in all sizes and colors. They are fairly inexpensive as well. Should cost under 5 bucks.

At the parts store you can get metal ones meant for use in wrapping headers.

They absolutely can - and I believe they WILL - I have had it happen. Even though you are using rubber spacers, anything that passes through the cores can and will eventually rub through from the vibration of normal use.

As SIXFOOTER has suggested, brackets are the way to go.

FWIW: An account I read said never to use tie wraps to mount auxilary fans. Core damage will result. The author said you should fab up some brackets, mount the fan to the brackets, and mount the brackets to the radiator support.

Can't say which is best. Just passing along the info.

They will dry up and break the trip you go the farthest from home on .Make a bracket.to much money to rig it. Rad +Hood No telling what else if they let go.

Don't do it! Every time that fan starts it torques against the cores. They are OK to mount a transmission cooler that doesn't move, but I would not use them to mount a fan. My .02
