Default Should I Buy

Hey all,im new to this forum and ive just been absorbing as much info as possible.Im about to buy a corvette and just wanted to know if its worth the price. Its a 71' with a 350 crate engine in it ,the engine has 88k KM on it.Its got side exhausts and an odd hood that the seller said was worth about 1500$ CAD.The body is good ,no cracks, frame is also good, just a bit of rust up front and underneath.Interior is probably a 7/10 .Now heres where my doubts start, from 60 MpH to 100mph the shifter rattles pretty bad, also there is a decent amount of fresh engine oil on the underside. The seller told me that rattle is nothing and that he will change some gaskets and the leaks will stop but some people have told me to pay a litle more and get something that i dont have fix. He's asking 22k Canadian, about 20k US.IS it worth it?I really appreciate any advice, thanks

there has been some good deals on the forum for numbers matching cars about the same year, for a little more dollars.
check the for sale section.

i think it's a little high, but thats just my opinion.

Forgot to mention the engine is putting out 270hp and the seller put in new headers to go with the side exhausts.

Where are you located? I am guessing you are in canada, like me.

I found it a lot better to buy a car here on the forum and have it shipped up to me in Toronto than buying locally.Much better selection and price as well, with the CDN$ being so high right now.

Sounds to me like this owner tried to "jazz up" the C3 with some goodies and has been running the $h!# out of it. I wouldn't touch it with a 20 foot pole.

This might sound stupid but you go check the vehicle first right? Not to sound lazy but its a lot of work to go and see each potential buy.And i simply dont trust people's word that the car is good.LT1 i also drove the car and it sounded good and ran well at higher speeds, with the shifter rattle being the exception.
