72 AC compressor...

Im installing a new compressor on my 72. the new one has a plug and i cant remember if the one i took off had a switch. Is there suppose to be a pressure switch on the back of the compressor on a 72?

No pressure switch on the back of a 72. Just the manifold with hi/lo ports. The only wiring is to the clutch.

68-72s have no low or high pressure switches. System is non cycling and the POA/expansion valve regulates freon flow/pressure.

my factory/original compressor has a switch on the back. I was told that if you change the compressor, just transfer the swithc from the old one to the new one.

Me too. Mine is an original 72 compressor that still works!!
