A couple of years ago I cut a 12" by 6" hole in the heating/AC duct that runs across the ceiling of my garage. I put a return air vent with a door I could close in it.
Now I can work on the Vette in 70 degree comfort on the hottest days of the year....

I did buy a 5000 btu portable a/c last year, works pretty good just have to have it blowing on you, but it helps a lot
