Hey Guys', I bought a nice set of steel ramps from griots with the extenders, but they keep sliding on the garage floor when I try and drive the car up on them. I tried blocking them with a inflated wheel/tire on each side, but no dice. They push the tire right along with them! Any idea's on how to get them to stay in place so i can drive the car up on them? If I put them out in the driveway on the asphalt they will stick but not the garage floor.
I put a 6" long piece of sheet metal on the front of mine. The tire goes onto the sheet metal and then up the ramp. The weight on the sheet metal keeps it from sliding. You could use rubber also.
Basically, same as DWncchs, but I also added some wood to make a 'shallower' approach...Got the sheetmetal from a HVAC contractor dumpster: an old furnace side panel. (Same place I found the foil backed insulation now under my floor mats.)

PVC pipe is cheap. I measured the distance from the end of the ramps to the base of the wall behind them and cut 2 lengths of 2 1/2 inch PVC to fit between the ramps and the wall.
The tires try to scoot the ramps across the cement floor, but the lengths of PVC prevent them from moving since they're basically extensions of the wall.
When you're done, the lengths of pipe stand up in any corner or up in the rafters.
2X4s will also work, but I happened to have a 12 foot section of PVC sitting around, and the pipe is way lighter.
Is it pretty? No. Will it end up in Popular Mechanics? No.
I recommend the same approach as above, but I used 2x4's. Just cut them to the same length and place between wall studs and front of ramps. [P.S. Don't trip over them when working on your car.]
Don't use anything..I just slide ramps tight against tires,and drive up...Rhino ramps,btw....

I use to do the same thing when I had mt 69 Impala and they never slid, but with the vette they slide every time I try. I'll try some of the ideas posted above.
I place rubber mats under the front of the ramps- the rubber mats stop the ramps from sliding forward . I
also have used sponge that looks like egg carton , a
piece about 2 feet by 3 feet is used under each ramp.
