Default Myrtle Beach Corvettes

What else is new. I was in Myrtle Beach over the weekend and decided to drive by the little classic car business on the trip home. It's located on Main Street, North Myrtle Beach. They usually have five or six classics in their small fenced area. Maybe even a Vette sometimes.

I was surprised to see two Vettes this time. A blue '71 convertible and a red '63 split window. I was looking thru the fence at them when the owner drove up in his red C6 vert. I'm thinking I can trade in my '75 for the '71 if I'm lucky. I ask how much. I'm thinking $20K to $22K. He says "special Sunday price of $34K". Ouch! Do you take trade-ins I ask. He immediately says no then asks what I have. I believe he thought I wanted to trade in a '96 Saturn or something. He then said bring in my '75 and we'll talk.

I haven't done it yet. $34K is a bit high for me. Would hate to give him my car and still owe $25K. I didn't ask the price of the '63.

I ride by there every year when I go on vacation. There hasn't been one year that I can remember driving by and NOT seeing a vette out there. He usually has a late model C3 on the lot with other various classics. Never asked about the prices though. I will be checking him out in about 5 weeks when I take my vacation. If there is anything there I will let the forum know.....

I live in Myrtle Beach so know Frank and his biz well. And you're right its on the high side but it's an early C3 convertible with chrome bumpers and if its all there (nice, original Corvette) probably worth it. If I can help, let me know...but I don't do loans!

It definitely appeared to be a nice car. All I could think of when I heard the price was the FORUM. You guys have sold cars that nice on the Forum for less, so that's where I'll look first when I'm ready to move up to chrome bumpers and soft tops.
