The previous owner of my 72 stingray replaced the glass rear window years back with plexiglass. It is scratched and has been damaged by parking decal glue, etc. I've read posts that claim you can buff, or polish out scratches. Has anyone had success in buffing out scratches in plexiglass? Or, should I just bite the bullet and purchase a $250 glass replacement? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Any local glass shop should be able to cut and mount a piece of glass for not much more than $100 or so. It's a simple flat pane of glass and there isn't much of a factory tint so most glass shops should be able to get it done for you cheap. Call around and get some quotes.

I haven't been able to find anyone to make me a window for less than $200.
For just a piece of glass, shop Ebay for a rear window/frame.
You should be able to find a decent piece for under $100.
Close to $50 for one with damaged frame.
I have an extra - but not for sale (Ebay for $27 - score).
Be patient and it will come.

I've been patient, and I have a search string that should find anything, no matter how badly described...just not having much luck.
I just bookmark the first page of my searches. Run search, change settings to show "newest listings first," then bookmark. Every time you use the bookmark, it re-runs the search. I've been doing that LONG before eBay had a "saved searches" feature.
