I put factory GM side exhaust on my 75. I love the sound.

I have a 73 with a high compression 350. Holly dual-feed, dual-pumper. The pipes were installed in the late 70's. 67 big block pipes with 69 covers. They always looked good, but as I am getting up in years they are just too loud. I tried the hookers prior to these and my wife burned her leg so they had to go.

Is there a cheaper alternative to the Hooker side mount header?
$1,000 for chrome is an outrage!

Whats not to like! They belong on the vette!I run mine open except for some homemade resonators to remove a little of the crack in them.(A very little)

FYI, the factory sidepipes do not reduce ground clearance as they are up where the rocker panels used to be.

Another tidbit, don't expose the covers to road salt. It'll will destroy them.

Hey guys,

Its been a while since I first asked this question. I am sold, even the wife said " heck yea, now it looks like a vette". I did opt for the cheaper version with plans for engine changes coming up soon. These are the Patriot brand, ($200) fit was good, sound is sweet and low. Love it! Thanks again to all!

I haven't got the rocker moldings back on yet, but here's Ol' Red wearing his Jet-Hot Hookers.

I purchased my set up from Jet Hot and the insert from JCL. I had to drill the inserts out since they were just a little too quiet for me.Im loving it!!!!!!

I disagree. I have Hookers on my 81 which is a daily driver. It's not that loud. I have STS Spiral Baffles and it sounds perfect. Really deep tone, and definitely some power gains, too.
