I have a 73 with a high compression 350. Holly dual-feed, dual-pumper. The pipes were installed in the late 70's. 67 big block pipes with 69 covers. They always looked good, but as I am getting up in years they are just too loud. I tried the hookers prior to these and my wife burned her leg so they had to go.
Whats not to like! They belong on the vette!I run mine open except for some homemade resonators to remove a little of the crack in them.(A very little)

Unlike the cosmetic overpriced factory design (don't get me wrong, they do look good), they will support major power. And if you keep burning yourself on them, Bangkok Dean makes some nice shields... I'm going to get some MaxFlows to replace the glass packs with.

Have hookers on my 70.....I went to the ceramic from exhaust to side pipe tube....My tube is chrome....Recently put on some heat shields so theres no more burning of legs......C3's looked naked w/o sidepipes
Its been a while since I first asked this question. I am sold, even the wife said " heck yea, now it looks like a vette". I did opt for the cheaper version with plans for engine changes coming up soon. These are the Patriot brand, ($200) fit was good, sound is sweet and low. Love it! Thanks again to all!

id love to put sidepipes on mine, but i just see to many clearance problems. i bottom out on my stock exhaust more then i care to already. if i had sidepipes, im sure id crush the collectors just getting out of my driveway.
I purchased my set up from Jet Hot and the insert from JCL. I had to drill the inserts out since they were just a little too quiet for me.Im loving it!!!!!!
For a daily driver, to loud. Weekend cruiser-OK. Did not want to choke engine with reverse flow inserts, will save hooker sidepipes for another corvette build.
I disagree. I have Hookers on my 81 which is a daily driver. It's not that loud. I have STS Spiral Baffles and it sounds perfect. Really deep tone, and definitely some power gains, too.
