That poses a problem. You can however install the pump, run the belt, and run only the Hydro. You do not have to have the power steering system.

When will you be selling a complete kit? Hydroboost plus lines plus a spacer for pre-1977? How much?

As soon as I take delivery of the fitting for the control valve!
In reality, probably about a month.

As always We will be at a lower price point than everyone else with quality second to none.

We are selling the boosters either manual or Auto for $250.
Line kits look like they will be around $180
(plus shipping of course)

What's the deal with the color of that cylinder on it? Can you get it in different colors? Are they all blue?

Actually, the accumulator bottles on the Hydro unit best suited for our cars is gold. It's anodized aluminum and the bottle itself is built into the Hydro. I suppose it could be swapped out by dismantling the whole unit but it's easier to live with the gold than it is to repaint it. Getting paint to stick to it would be very tough and still be resistant to contact with things without scratching.

Hey palamesa, more info on using the LS1 pump please. Are you doing a complete LS1 conversion, or just using the pump?
Advantages/disadvantages? Running a remote reservoir? How hard is this to adapt to older systems?

Thanks!

Paul...I'm doing an LS1 swap in my '76. My engine is out of a 2002 Z28 which had a R&P steering set up similar to Steeroids. I don't have all the details figured out yet but I don't think it will be extremly difficult to get it all plumbed up. I do not plan on running a remote reservoir. As far as adapting to older systems, the LS1 pump works the same as the older style so it's just a hose/fitting change.
There are some guys here who have already completed their swaps or are further along than me who may want to post about their set-ups...GP

Here is a pic of my Hydroboost installed during teh rebuild of my 70 vette.

And here it is after completion.

I used this in conjunction with VB&P Sports Rotors and the brakes are fabulous!

So you can't convert if you don't have PS?

Yeah the steering rack has almost nothing to do with the braking except it's a system usually already in place that the hydraulic braking system can use.

If a car is a full manual car it makes it more tricky because a power steering pump and belt have to be added, but this is not a horrible task.

Once the power steering pump is installed, and the Hydro is in place, it's just a matter of plumbing.

It's a lot cheaper if you buy a 2nd hand Hydroboost and make your own lines...
