The dog days of summer have really kicked in. Now is the time all you guys with snow in the winter can laugh at us here in the desert. I finally wised up and installed a 24,500 BTU LG window A/C unit in my 3 car garage (had to mount it low so you can't see it from the street - covenants). It cools it down quick. This buys me a ton of weekends back that I normally couldn't even think about getting in the garage. We won't even start talking about electric bills. At least it's 220V
Hey Matt, My son and I are dropping the '89 5.0 HO motor in his '70 Mustang this weekend. Besides the motor we are converting to a 5 spd manual w/ cable clutch, Master Power brake conversion, A/C kit, etc, etc, etc, needless to say my '69 has taken a back seat for the past number of months.

I had the AC slot put in my 3 car when I had the house built. Bought the unit ahead of time to make sure that all of the measurements would be correct, and installed the unit the day I took possesion. Took about a year to convince the homeowners association that I didn't do an unapproved modification.
Don't have that dry heat here. 95 degrees with 95% humidity feels like 110.

My HOA can't see mine The top of it is just below the 6 foot block wall that all of the homes have on each side and around the perimiters of the back yards. You did it right, running wiring for 220 in the attic was a PITA. I didn't buy new so no choice for me.
Here's to staying cool - calling for 110 again today but a cold spell comes in later in the week - down to 105!!!

Congrats. I know the Valley of the Sun well; went to school in Tempe. Of course that was a lonnnng time ago. Back then, there was no PIR or Firebird Raceway. We used to do our drag racing on Ray Road and Guadalupe Road out there in your neck of the woods. Every now and then, we'd venture out to Power Road in East Mesa but there was a lot of desert South of Tempe that had wider roads .
Ahh the good ol' days. We used to have a lot of fun out there. Nowadays, Chandler, Gilbert, and Mesa have grown up a lot.
But that sun's still hot as heck this time of year
Sounds good ... 110 ... more than anyone bargains for.
Let's just remember this moment when New England gets 2 feet
of snow next winter and it's 65 there.
Today brings beautiful, dry, sunny, 80 degrees to mid-New England.
I live in the California Mojave desert, transplanted from Chicago. I'll take summer heat all year long instead of being couped up half the year back east. It's 105 here today and I still got in 3 sets of tennis and was able to drive my Vette.

82 here today, but I haven't got any tennis in for 3 weeks because of rain. Todays storms have passed though so hitting the pool soon.
76 sunny and dry here in New York. Had the Vette out with the T_TOPS OFF soaking up the sun and the cool breeze. Cruised around for about 2 hours and really didn't want to put her back in the garage.
It is supposed to get real hot here over the weekend. They say it might hit 90!!!! It is a wet heat though makes it feel like 92.

We've had a whopping 1 inch of rain over the past year . Not many tennis or Vette driving days rained out .
