When i bought the car, the windows would go up slow so decided to rebuild the regulators. Now i have the entire window system working like it should but the window motor does not want to roll the window down. You would think that would be the easy part? I replaced the switches so i dont think that is it. Is there any way to test the window motors? I believe that these are still good...thanks
I've never rebuilt mine but have had it hang up. I gave up trying to remove it and read on this forum about using a battery charger to test the moter; puts 12V right where you need it. From what I recall it does not matter which terminal gets the hot lead. It worked fine! My problem was the gunk in the window tracks that had built up over time. This was causing too much resistance for the motor. Once cleaned up she's good to go.
check the wires were they go from the door to the jamb (inside the black rubber boot) they can get broken from opening and closing the door so many times
Ill try the battery charger idea. Im pretty sure that the wires are fine, but i will look into it anyways. can never be sure. the reason i say that is that the motors worked before i took them out and now they dont seem too. these cars ...lol
