$96 savings bought me a heavy duty timing chain cover for $26 verses
Comp Cams for $140, hardened pushrods, but I did buy a Cloyes true roller timing chain.
You are paying for a name, just know who makes what for who.
Did you ever notice BFG radial tires never have a sale yet sell "blems" for a very nice reduced price? They all have a no name outlet.
haha didn't even know about that brand. any other brands i need to know about?!?

there's a big difference between the "buy American" crowd and supporting slave labor. but if all you care about is who made the profit, i'm done talking.

What would chinesse do with $18 an hour anyway?
Its pretty simple, if I didn't buy a PP intake then I would either not buy one at all or get a swap meet one, but buying a new one just because "Edelbrock" is stamped on it ain't going to happen.
There products cost too much!!!!
Gas is $3 agallon and what ever I can do to save a buck, its going to happen!
Do you releize everytime someone buys an "Edelbrock intake" they are putting $96 too much in his bank account?

http://www.stans-headers.com/tri_y.htm

If you listen closely, you can still hear great people making a great quality, full warranty product right here in America.

I've tried all the "other" brands. Unless you actually put these products side-by-side and visibaly touch, inspect & feel how good these things are, you are just second guessing yourself.
This is a product that I am extremely happy with on my Vette.

STANS Bay-Bee! Once again proving to the world that America can still make world class, craftsmanship level products for a reasonable price.
You want $80 headers? Knowing full well they will only last 1 or 2 years? Just so you can throw them away and buy the same POS again!?!?!

Whatever. It's your money. Personally, I just think your short-sightedness is plain

Its just like Borla with their millon mile warrenty.
For that statement you pay triple compared to anything else.
I know a guy who bought a new 78 Trans am for a daily driver.
He died last year and the car only had 475,000 miles on it and drove everyday all day!
Unless I hand a chinaman my money face to face you can damn well be sure an American is making a profit also.
So if your so rich as to over spend on everything thats OK with me, because thats more deals for me!!!!

Hey Tim, I don't know what your beef is. But, I am not really into buying cheap and throwing away this trash.

I will SAVE my hard earned money and wait until I can afford a well made product. Once I have it, I will make D@MN sure I TAKE CARE OF IT!
Like my watch for example...Sure, I could go to Wal-Mart and buy a $12.99 Remington watch. Sure, it might look nice and might actually tell time. But, in 6 months will it? How about 2 years? No. Probably not. Will it be something I hand down to my childrens children? No. If a precise mechanism inside the watch were to fail, could I take it back to a jeweler at Wal-Mart and he repair this watch? Not hardly.

BUT... I saved up as much spending cash as I could, here & there and bought a VERY nice, well made watch by Orivs. This watch cost $350. Does it tell time? Yes. Has it in 6 months? Well, it's been nearing 7 years with the same watch. And yes, it still looks great, feels great and I get compliments on this handsome old field watch. AND you can bet your sweet a$$ I am going to give it to my son someday.

That's how I treat the few things that I have. This whole, buy crap & throw it away "disposable" lifestyle just isn't for me. Sorry man.

wow. now that's a scary thought. i was going to drop this and let you go on rationalizing whatever you want so long as you "make out". but let's take that argument. i'm guessing a chinease factory worker, if he made $18/hour, might try to buy a house to raise his/her kids rather than have their "rent" for their dorm room ramshackle housing deducted from their paycheck. he/she might try to eat something other than the scrap food you and i would be repulsed by. maybe, just maybe, that man or woman might try and live a life where they can one day aspire to own a corvette or some other such frivolity.
but your right. what do stupid chinamen need anyway, right? hell, there's a billion of them. nobody would miss a million or two.

Do you releize everytime someone buys an "Edelbrock intake" they are putting $96 too much in his bank account?
now you're just being thick. let's take your assumption that vic is putting $96 per manifold in his pocket. do you really think the importer you gave your money to is putting any less in his? if you do, brother, you need to remove the glasses. the FACTS are that people can import stuff into this country from china (and other bassackwards countries) and mark them up hundreds of percent and still sell less than a first world manufacturer can, and by that i mean not only US but also canada, italy, germany, etc. hell, even mexico can't compete with chinease slave labor.
you may want to read a newspaper article from time to time.
but hey, as long as you got a good deal

[EDIT] i wouldn't want you to have to work too hard to find this so i'll make it easy on you.

China is communist so their lives are not going to get any better until they get rid of that way of goverment.
We call it sweat shops, they call it normal life, and lucky to get their food, cloths and shelter gave to them.
Their life is not my problem.
You guys act like a chineese product takes %100 of the money to China.
Theres an American at the docks to unload, truck drivers, warehouse workers, distrabuters and store owners that make money off this stuff, they are all American that you want to deny a pay check because only one phase of the product is out sorced.
If your so worried about those poor workers, then buy one of their products so they can buy a new straw hat!!!!!!! Or pay for Vic's new pool?
In closing until you can open up that TV in your living room and show me all the componets say English words on them, the Spanish Gala channel is selling $5 Nike shirts made from 55 Chevy seat covers!!!!

Default CHINAMAN???? STRAW HAT??? (Big Lebowski?)

The Dude: Walter, the chinaman who peed on my rug, I can't go give him a bill, so what the f*** are you talking about?

Walter Sobchak: What the f*** are you talking about? The chinaman is not the issue here, Dude. I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, Dude. Across this line, you DO NOT... Also, Dude, chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please.
