Now keep us posted when you get it and how it turns out. The suspense is killin me. I think you got a good car at a good price. Let us know if it holds up to inspection,

The 68 looks really nice and well prepped barring any serious rust, but is it my eyes or are the door sills on backwards
They appear to be on backwards. Could they have done it to cover up rust? (This came from a Chevy dealer so I am hopefull that they would not do something like that)

Everything under the sills is fiberglass, probably just installed wrong by the looks of it. The car looks very straight and I think that color is awesome. Congrats

As a dealer I also believe any car he sells must be able to pass inspection. I think the ad said a leaky caliper, they should fix that.

Dealer or not, the car was listed on ebay, most likely in "as is" condition like all the other cars on ebay. The guy bid and bought it as advertised, not in "inspection passing" condition. Don't expect the dealer to fix anything, especially at that price.

You're probably right, didnt think of it that way.
The deal is being unwound. Over a week just to get paperwork going and then 3 more for shipping. I was not willing to wait until August for the car to arrive.
Dealer was very understanding.
Now I might just as well wait until fall when the prices tank.

FedEx delvered my car from the East Coast in about 10 days.
I wouldn't depend on "prices tanking" in the fall. That's a common belief, and is true sometimes with people who don't want to store their cars, but most Corvette people don't just drop their selling prices in the dumper according to the calendar unless they are desperate.
As someone who bought a car on Ebay, let me tell ya it can be a royal PITA. If you are wanting one that is too far for you to travel to inspect, definitely ask for help from the forum members to inspect it and report the findings back to you. Nothing sucks more than spending allot of money and then finding you are going to have a spend a helluva allot more to get it right.

Carlisle, maybe?
10 days would have been entirely acceptable but I checked with DAS and a few others and it was 20 days plus another week because the dealer was taking time sending paperwork. I asked if they could sell to someone else and they said no problem. Had they said no then I would have finished the deal.
I know the prices won't really tank but I believe they will continue downward some from their spring peak.

Yes it seems to be a big time PITA. At least Ebay has some fraud protections. I'd be leary of doing a deal outside of bay with someone I didn't know or some hole in the wall dealership.
Not sure what to do now guess I'll keep looking and maybe something local will show up.
