Wheel repairs?

Sorry no pix - i'm not that computer equipped. This post is kind'a caution as some shops will run the repair bill up by adding charges for every item.
Interesting the shop will widen or narrow wheels and powder coat too for custom aps for flat rate of $250. This could be fun with some cheap old style mags.
Anyone try this?
Ok now the rant: Tire Rack took over a week to email the tires i ordered were OOS and no restocking date availible. But they posted tires in stock and took my credit info.

The shop had a lot of business with the newer tall diameter/low aspect/short sidewall aluminum wheels. Not as much rubber to protect the rim lip and my guess the heavy SUV's beat'm up.
I have a set of IROC rims that i want to customize but can't decide what to color them. The shop says once they weld them for width changes it usualy leaves pitting and a brushed finnish not the best. So the powder coat is best option and for same price. But what color(s). I'm thinking semi-gloss black. Any ideas?
Well Tire Rack pulled a fast once and instead of giving me a break for the OOS delay on my previous order they charged me another 4 bucks for shipping the same size tire but different brand.
Of course the rep they told to contact at his extention was gone for the weekend on Friday. Then Jake in cust service told me he would save me cash with a special deal on 2-day shipping but i caught him by checkning the bills math and it was going to be $8 more than 3-day - special deal alright.
Well he did say they work on commission so he split the cost to $4 extra. Kind'a Tee's me they waste a week with my order then gouge me for a few more bucks. Well my first experience with Tire Rack is not the best and thought i should post it - though i will give'm a chance as have heard good of them.
