You guys have a lot of insightful comments when looking at ebay ads. Please throw some darts at this one. I looked at this car today, but not having a trained eye I would like some other input. I will speak to the corvette shop that did the paint work before going further.
Thanks,
Greg
He told me it had drums, I didn't actually look that close! It definitely takes some leg power to stop the car (no power assist). Now that I look closely at the picture of the front wheel it sure looks like a disc set-up. The seller is not a technical guy. When he told me that I didn't think to look closely since I thought I read here it was a delete option.

Wrong engine data plate
The LT-1 was the only 350 that had 360 Ft-lbs of torque in 72. You couldn't get it with an automatic.
Also, the VIN number shows a "k" for the engine code which was the base 350. "L" was for an LT-1 and "W" for a 454.
So this may have an LT-1 interior? He said he bought an original lightly worn interior on ebay and had it installed. It is a very nice interior. Maybe that's where the engine spec. plate came from.
It seems to me the guy doesn't exactly know what he has. If you are looking for a driver and not so concerned about numbers matching it may be a great buy! Where is the car? Can you put out a call to a local forum member and get some help looking at it. Be aware that all old cars have problems, like the A/C. Just look before you leap.

Drum brakes....hmmm....check the rear frame for the inside brace/support going from the crossmember to the kick-up into the rear wheel well. Sounds like this body might have been put on a 63-64 frame. 65 was the first year for disc brakes. If that brace isn't there somebody cobbled that frame to work with the 72 body....OR all they could find was old drum brakes to replace the worn out stuff to get it on the road.
Be prepared to spend a great deal of money in the next few years mechanically. I prefer to buy cars with a lot of mechanical work already done so you don't end up in a money pit. Because it's not a rare, optioned out car, I don't believe originality really matters. Just make sure nothing really alters the appearance.
Guys,
I appreciate all the input. The drum brake issue I believe is incorrect. I will definitely confirm before going forward, but I was too ignorant to check what he was telling me and didn't think it would be abnormal. Actually in one picture underneath it looks to me like disc brakes. Anyhow, this is not my biggest concern. I looked the car over and drove it. It drives nicely and the underneath is VERY clean. A corvette shop has done the paint work and some repairs and "beautification" (painting the engine while still in the car is not my idea of good work, but just my opinion).
The pictures of this car do not do it justice. THe paint is immaculate and with very deep luster. The interior is very nice, from another car he says.
If the price isn't too high I might go for it (he wants $15k), but if there are any forum members in the Doylestown, PA area that would like to take a look, please shout out.
