Looking over some of the "price guides", there is a $4000 premium for a Silver Anniversary model. I can understand a differential between a standard model and a Pace Car due to the limited production, but the SA paint job (only difference from a non SA) was on a large number of these cars (25% +/- of the total non PC). Are sellers really getting this markup from a non SA? Not selling my "standard model", just curious.

I agree it sounds on the high side and I own one but than they also included other items such as aluminum wheels, mirrors and other convenence options like courtesy lights.

Depends on where it is and who wants the car. I like the '78 SA package but, all things considered, I would not pay an additional $4K for the paint option. I would possibly pay an additional $4K for an exceptionally nice, unmolested car if she caught my eye.
FWIW: Published price guides sell magazines. These cars can, and do, sell for amounts below the guide figures.
I agree that some would but I would not pay up $4K for a high production number paint job. Other than the paint, a rear defrost, gymkhana suspension and cb radio, my "standard corvette" had every option that was offered on a non PC. I know "price guides" are selling books, mags etc. but where do they come up with this info? Is it based off actual sales or someones creative imagination? God bless those that can get the premium.
