After a quick search, I didn't find any other topics that covered this exact question, so here goes.....
Has anyone had a professional repair of small nick's or chip's in the paint completed?
If so, how good is the repair (let's assume they do a good job). Can you still see the problem area's? At a glance (or even with a stare) can the new paint be seen easily?
I have some small nicks that right along the front edge of the hood and head lights that are bothering me. They look like they were repaired with touch up paint at one point, but they are still visible. Can they be fixed without having to paint the entire hood?
I tried to take photos, but they don't show up well in pictures....
Short of wet sanding the chips smooth, or filling with a glazing putty to fill in to match the surface and respray the hood, touch-up paint will be ok if you build it up with several layers of paint with a very fine point brush from a art supply store, block wet sand with extra fine grit, and compound out by hand. I just had a local body shop mix me a pint for this very reason and the paint is just about a perfect match.
A lot cheaper then a respray and possible mismatch of color against the fenders.

Thanks for the link, I've been planning on doing nick repairs/using rubbing compound to get any inconsistencies out of my black paint-job when I get home. The link was extremely helpfull! THANK YOU!
