Engine temperature problem
LIving in Texas, you get many many hot summer days in a row. Having a 75 i am a little worried that one day my car might overheat. My radiator works fine and looks like it was replaced at one time. Heres the question. What small things can i do to lower the running temperature of the engine? After driving it for an hour i open the hood and it just seems a little to warm in there for me, but maybe im mistaken. but i dont think my temp gauge works

You want the little things in place-spoiler, radiator seals, hood to core support seal, fan shroud. You want a good fan clutch or convert to electric fans. Good shielding around exhaust manifolds or coated/wrapped headers. Make sure the engine is in good tune. All these things go a long way towards cooler running.

I run a mechanical temp gauge in place of the clock because I'm unable to locate the correct temp sending unit for my car. Stock gauge reads 50 degrees higher than the mech. one. My engine temp went down 30 degrees when I wrapped my headers.
