74' Vette has original worn A arm bushings. I want to totally have the front end rebuilt. New ball joints (4), tie rod ends ( 4 total ), idler arm, control arm bumpers, sway link bushings. Going to use polyurethane bushings. Any idea how much Labor will be, I will supply the suspension rebuild kit to do it.
If you were calling me at work for a phone EST. I'd tell you It's IMPOSSIBLE to tell without seeing the car
6 hours labor + a 4 wheel Alignment TO START
Broken/Stripped bolts, Torch Time How much work will the rear need just to align it?????
I'll bet you could buy all the tools & a good book & save a bunch of $$$ AND have the tools for the next project if you did it yourself!!
Garage I use works on Corvettes. Tools should be no issue. Basically I am looking for someone else on here that has had their car rebuilt and the Labor it cost. No surprises under my car. It is roadworthy now.

Won't they give you an estimate? You just looking for a second opinion? Six hours seems more than reasonable but if things are seized or need to be cut? You trust these guys or not?

"In the off season I intend to do a rebuild of the front end of my '79. I have replacement ball joints, tie rods and ends, springs, shocks and bushings on hand. I was considering getting completely rebuilt upper and lower control arms and swapping them out (these come with new bushings and ball joints already installed). I was hoping to do the work myself but would seriously consider having you guys do it if it's not too pricey. My questions then:
Do you do install parts you don't supply?
How much does it cost to do the general rebuild? Includes replacement or rebuild of upper and lower control arms, shocks, springs, tie rods and ends; any general maintenance or repair to the spindle; other?"
Response :
"Hi Steve: Yes, we can install a customers supplied parts. However, there is no warranty on labor or parts. If you purchase the parts from us then there is a warranty on parts & labor. To do a complete front suspension rebuild labor cost is $1170. An alignment is also required $95. If you supply the rebuilt assemblies all ready to go the labor cost is $810.
We do offer a front suspension kit for $210. Kit includes 4 ball joints, 4 tie rod ends, 2 tie rod sleeves, 8 control arm bushings, 1 pair stabilizer links, uupper & lower control arm bumpers & idler arm. Does your kit include all these items?"
I did it myself...not too hard, REALLY satisfying when completed
