Default Alternator mounting. help!

So the old 350 from our vette is actually going in a 76 toyota FJ40! Anyways I didn't take the motor apart originally and I have no idea how the alternator mounts. Here's a pic of the engine and the brackets. If anyone has a similar set up a picture of it mounted would be HIGHLY appreciated.

sorry for the low quality, cell phone pics/

Thanks!

The top of the alternator (one of the ears with holes) goes into the long slot in the bracket that looks like a hockey stick. The bottom goes onto a bracket that bolts near the exhaust header, or it may actually fit right into the exhaust header. I can't see from the pictures, but there might be a hole near there that is obviously for the alternator. It will swivel on the lower hole, and you slide the alternator in the top hole to tighten the belt.

Hope this helps...

Thanks! Your right, there are holes on the side of the exhaust manifold, it might mount right on there.. I believe the other side of the hockey stick mount goes on a shared bolt with the waterpump.

Looks like you have some extra brackets there. I recognize some from the A/C compressor used on my '64.

I also see a power steering pump bracket...and one for the ignition shielding.

Thanks so much everyone. Worked on it more today and got the alternator all mounted. The bottom side did just go on the exhaust manifold. As for the other brackets, the engine did originally have A/C so I'm sure your right.

Thanks again!
