How can you post a poll when you don't even say who it actually is about?
I think I know but be specific.
This is C3 general?

There has been a crap load of locked threads and banned members in the past several weeks and they all seem to revolve back around one particular member. Is one particular member worth all the controversy and loss of good, long term knowledgable members???
Can't you just choose to ignore? Really- it's not that difficult to do.If you don't like them just ignore them.Maybe the Mods can come up with that button so the system would do it for you but I think self control would be best.If you get your way and ban this person who will be next-it would never end? Please just let it go!!!

If this is about DB, I think you are wrong to try and do this. Thank goodness I have never been wrong about anything. This is a hobby and this site supports that hobby. Some of enjoy comming in here and reading , getting better informed, and sometimes, try and add a bit of info to help. 3 weeks ago, when visting my Mother in Fla, she returned a letter to me I had written from Vietnam in 1972. part of it say.."think I will buy a vette when I get home". I still havent bought one...tho looking hard at one up the road.I have worked on jillions of SBCs,including vettes, along my lifes path. Maybe you should ban me too.

Default In case somebody missed this.

C3 Moderators and I have been receiving numerous PM's regarding member differences in the C3 section. Clearly the line has been drawn and opinions have been concluded by those involved.

Before elaborating on that point, let me first remind everyone that the Corvette Forum was created as a site where Corvette enthusiasts from all generations can come to share information, organize meetings to get to know one another, offer parts/items for sale, discuss off topic subjects, and most importantly, share our passion for America's only true sports car; the Corvette

With that said, here's one of the rules that was created:

Quote:
Personal attacks/hostility toward others
---------------------------------------------------------------
The Forum should be a place where we treat one another with civility so that it remains a fun and friendly place to hang around with other Corvette enthusiasts. Hostility to others is rude and inappropriate.

Personal attacks cannot be tolerated. Attack ideas, not fellow Forum members.

We all need to remember that no one brings perfection, answers to every question, and complete knowledge to the forum, therefore, we need to understand that we must work together, and recognize that we are individuals, and our thoughts and opinions will not always be the same.

While this may sound elementary, unfortunately, it has not always been adhered to.

If you enter a thread and read an opinion or thought that you disagree with, you have three options available:

1) state your opinion,

2) respectfully disagree with another member's advice/input, state your's, and offer why you feel yours is correct. Documented evidence is always welcome in support.

3) leave the thread, take your thoughts with you, and send the thread creator a PM with your information.

What the forum does not condone, and what will jeopardize your posting privileges, is open hostility/name calling towards the members thoughts or opinions whose may be different than yours.

As easy as it may be to get upset or frustrated with another member, especially when two completely opposite views are presented, members must remember that arguing on the forum will not settle the differences. Rather, members are encouraged to agree to disagree with one another.

Offer your thoughts, supporting evidence, and leave it there. The member asking the question can research the presented information to determine who has offered the correct input.

Don't take an opposing opinion as a personal attack on your knowledge, but instead, accept it as another's opinion/thoughts only.

I am confident that our members can abide by the rules, and learn how to co-exist in this section with their thoughts and opinions.

We're here to help each other, not to engage in a behavior that belittles or embarrasses another when proving a point

If members want to discuss this further, I welcome your input via PM.

No open discussion will be permitted

I had a whole diatribe that I was going to put down here but decided against it,,, But guess what, its a free country and we can pick and choose what we want to read, post and endure, yep even with following the rules here. Everyone must have some sort of an idea or thought on how some people are so, last I checked it was O.K. to take or leave their perceived expertise and follow what ever path we need to for "OURSELVES", Peace,,,Moosie

Oh yeah,,,,BTW , IBTL

The internet in general is FULL of bad information, I usually ask my questions and then do my homework by using "google" and finding other sources to back it up.

Whether one person is giving out bad information or not you do have the option of :

1. Correcting the information, and maybe backing it up with legitimate sources

2. Using the "ignore" feature that the site provides

or

3. Just plain ignoring the thread and moving on.....

There is no reason to get worked up over anything, last I recall there was no limit on how many posts a person can put in a day.......while I feel 50-60 posts a day is a little strange, it is allowed.

This site is full of different people with different ideas on how to do things.......no need to get mad at someone because they don't agree with the way you approach a problem. If it deemed unsafe.....correct them "tactfully" or report the thread...very simple.

Personally I see the group or personal attacks more of a problem than someone giving bad information......but that's my two cents and hopefully I don't get flamed or outcast because of it

P.S. I went and explained this situation to my wife, before I could finish she asked me "These are adults your talking about? I mean these are covette people, right?"..........she remembers the threads I used to show her when I was building mini-trucks and dealing with the kids on the s10 forums.......I guess she expected better out of the Corvette Community.......something to think about.

Just out of curiosity, and not trying to wind anyone up, but how is it that the mods AND you have been receiving all the PM's? Are the mods that inundated with PM's that they need help?

Oh yeah, IBTL

[QUOTE=Jughead;1560969236]Thank God you're not an American...

Len, i dont have the american passport just for a case , listen to this anecdote:

my grand grand father, like many other hundreds of thousands europeans who rushed from starvation (and sometimes from cops as well...) went to America, in his case to fish on his uncle's fishing vessel based somewhere in new england, he left his country because they said he had hanged three a$$holes from the meat hooks but ,actually, apart from sometimes beeing a bad mannered fellow he was a good guy, tender with his wife and full of respect for the family and close friends, also he was a great worker (if left in peace), anywhow he did well over there and was going to stay, like nearly all those who went over the pond at the end of the 900' but, for a problem in the family in italy, he had to take the boat back home, and never went back ...he died dreaming of america but never ever went back. if he stayed and become an american today i'd be an american as well (of third gen)...(and maybe vote for Hillary now)

anyhow, for that trip he won the apode of 'small peter the american' that substituded his previous one 'small peter the death'.

...just a thought about 'sliding doors' iussues, if you saw the film, you'll know what i'm talking about
