I am ready to put the front fiber optic harness in my '69 and I would like to know if they are suppose to indicate for the low beam, high beam, and the turn signals?
If this is the correct set up, where do I plug in for the headlights? I can see a boot on the turns but none anywhere else!!!
Fiber optics wire is beige and is part of the harness that plugs into the headlamp bulb.
Do a search, there were some excellent pics of this that a fellow forum member posted.
O.K. now that I know which optic goes to which fixture, can anyone tell me how the headlight fibres are attached to the headlight bulb housing? Basicially I can't find where they get their light source.
all my electrical is aftermarket....Looks like I will have to drill some holes to accept the optic cable.
And if I remember the bulbs should have a glass tit to use as a light source, correct???

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have a assembly manual since I bought the car. In this instance it was of little help!
I'm all set now and thank all of you!!!
this discussion made me look at mine last night,
the problem was not the FO but the bulb itself.
my headlights worked, but the tit was black from the heat, I guess
I replaced the bulbs and the FO work great.
That seems to be the problem with some of mine also. Not many things worse than dirty tit's.
I am glad that this thread helped someone else along with myself. Thanks guys!
There was also some little black plastic sleeves that fit over the bulb "tit" and between the bulb and electrical connector. This kept the dirt off of the bulb so that the optics worked well and also kept "outside" light from showing up on the console panel when the lights were not on. You could cut some 1/4" long pieces of 3/8" diameter black plastic tubing and get the job done (one for each headlamp).
