Default Crossover box location?

I'm putting tweeters in the area above the seat backs and trying to figure out where to put the crossover box; any ideas?

Thanks

I'm confused about where you mean? Are you talking about the panel next to the seats? That would be bad imaging by the way.

The crossovers could go in the passenger storage compartment and just run the wires up under the panels.

I put the some speakers in the front kick panels and I noticed in Corvette Fever (Shark Attack) they mounted the tweeters in the panel where the seatbelt retracts right above the seat back. So I was thinking of run the wires down the console to the crossover box in front where I would connect the front speakers to the crossover box then the box to the stereo. Should I mount the tweeters on the front pillars?

That would be a lot better. Those side panels will not be a good location for the tweets. It'll confuse your head as far as where the sound is coming from and trust me it creates an uneasy feeling.

The best would be to mount them down by the mid driver. If you cannot or don't want to fit them there then I suggest mounting them in the dash, either flush, or in the stock dash speaker location.

The reason is so they can fire up at the glass. This will sound good as well as mounting them in the kicks...but I would suggest against the side panels.

No problem. What kind of speaker set is it by the way?

Great set. You'll like those a lot. Best advise I can give for good mid bass is seal the speaker from free air as best as you can and watch the gain. The tweets can get a bit bright sometimes if you have sensitive hearing.

Good advice.
Play with your tweets before mounting them.
I mounted my 6.5's in the kick panel and left the tweets with lots of extra cord so I could play some music and hold the tweets near the kick panels and then move them up to the a-pillars and see what my ears like best.
I've gotten conflicting information from many professional installation shops and techs over the past two months.
-Some say to keep the tweets near the mid range as long as you can direct them to your ears.
-Others say to mount them in the pillar for a more "surround" feel.
-I don't see too much wrong with mounting them in the dash mount spots but again some say the reflection off the windshield can sound like crap.
I'll just move my tweets around until my ears are happy.
