Default Dents in frame rail

Hello! After removing and rebuilding the engine in my 1980 Vette, I noticed how dented the frame rails have become where I placed the jack. Is this a problem or indicative of problems to come? Are the frame rails getting soft, or is it normal to do this? Any help is appreciated! (No noticeable rust, but frame was spray coated before I bought it.)

Feel inside the holes in the bottom of the frame rails to see if there is much scale inside. There are specific places that are supposed to be used for jacking so you may just have jacked the car too close to the middle of the rails. If you have scale inside of the frame the metal will have thinned somewhat, but I doubt there are more than a few C3's that have all of the original metal left in their frames.

Default how to repair the dents?

I was wondering if there is a process to repairing the dents in the frame from this...I conteplated getting a slide-hammer dent puller and work out the worst ones, then weld and grind the hole flush. It doesn't have to be factory new, just not as noticable.

Any suggestions

PS: I know this is an old thread but it's relevent to my question.
