pushrods and timing chain question

pushrods and timing chain question
my main question is about the timing chain. i was able to get the bigger sprocket off the cam, but i cant get the lower one off. i rented a three jaw puller from autozone but it is still stuck. any tips on getting it off?
and about my pushrods. do i need to clean them and what should i use to clean them?

The bottom gear should come off with pressure from the puller and a few taps to help it along.
If all else fails I bet it will split in half easily with a cold chisel and a good hammer strike between the teeth.
