Console Side Trim Panels, which side is which?

Default Console Side Trim Panels, which side is which?
I'm wondering which side is which so I can apply carpet to them....if anyone can help me out that'd be great!

it's a 79.....the side panels that have carpet on them and fit right up underneath the shifter console/bezel....the ends that goes towards the fire wall are different...so I didn't want to carpet the wrong side, if it even matters....they came with the car and no carpet...

If you have the console in test fit them as they will only fit one way. As I recall the angle to fit at the back wall may give you a clue.
