Default Help decoding Differential

I was wondering what I have and I don't know much about the numbers. Is there s a guide somewhere to help. The only number I saw was facing rearward and upside down. It was 3871375. Is this the right number to look up? Can anyone tell me what rear end I have from this?

Thanks in advance

Not sure about a 1973, but the rear axle/identification codes may be stamped on the bottom of the differential and hence may not be visible.

For your information 1973-74:
Code - Ratio
AA - 3.55:1
AB - 3.70:1
AC - 4.11:1
AW - 3.08:1
AX - 3.36:1
LR - 3.36:1

A simple check would be to rotate the rear wheel one revolution and count the number of turns the propeller shaft makes.

Here is what it looks like. It is located on the bottom of the diff. You may have to clean up the area with a brush to see the stamping.
