I actually kinda dig it. The code 41 sample that's been shown here is a bit darker, IIRC. IMHO, code 26 Corvette Light Blue a far worse color, and almost 6,000 of those were built in 77 (including mine...).

It would be cool to see a pic of the original car. I doubt the car has survived in its original color all of these years though. I know if I was out looking for another vette and came across one this color and the price was right, I would probably have to consider what the cost of a new paint job would cost into my purchase price.
Just out of curiosity has anyone ever seen any pics of the original car?

The car has survived but not in its original color. It's now blue, the original door plate shows the car code 41 & he verified the chartreuse green under the hood.To see a picture of it now find me on Facebook .Diana L Brockett Gilpin.
"This car did exist. Noted Corvette Historian Noland Adams either mentioned or wrote an article sometime about how he saw it at the plant in St. Louis once when he was there gathering various Corvette production information. If I'm remembering this correctly, he said they(GM) had it sitting off to the side of the regular "production" line in one of their viewing or repair areas."

Is there any way to get a pic. of the trim plate and the chartreuse green under the hood. I read on your Facebook page who the car belongs to, that's why I'm asking.

That was me. I finally found a picture of it as it was on the cover of the August 1977 Vette Vues. I found the magazine on E-Bay and bought it.
The VIN is 1Z3737S400001. That's right VIN 00001. It was a GM test car and most likely never sold to the public. The colour resembles key lime pie filling. That's the best way to describe it. I'll try to scan the cover but I doubt it will translate well. It's a 36 year old magazine cover.
