Need some help...I have a 78 white with Oyster interior....would like to have the car painted something besides white...BUT, don't want to change the interior (I would think about changing the carpet color too if that would help a better body paint match). What other body colors would go good with Oyster int.?
To help with the visual (which I'm not good at) I currently have chrome wheels with spinners, I do have the factory aluminum wheels too, and I have have chrome header sidepipes....
I can't remember exactly what the Oyster white looks like. Is it a grayish white or a little bit toward tan? If grayish, "cooler" colors would look best....black, silver, blues. If toward tan, "warmer" colors....reds, browns, tans, gold, greens... Just my 2 cents....
My '80 has the Oyster interior. The outside is Code 28 Dark Blue Metallic (the original color). The car was red when we bought it. We didn't know it was originally blue until it was media blasted. We went back to the original color because we liked the contrast between Oyster and dark blue.
I don't have many pictures of the interior, but this one gives you an idea of the contrast.
Here's what she'd look like in silver/Gray. Otherwise, I bet it would look awesome in black with the chrome rims. Of course, nothing says Corvette like bright red. You dont see many in bright blue(sweet). Oh, I got it-canary yellow! I give up; paint her any color-
Mike, .....I tend to agree with some of the guys above.....A blue would look real good with the oyster interior Electron blue is my personal favorite.....but one EB C3 in the St.Louis area is probably enough
