Default Location on frame for Serial# ??

I have a 1969 convertable and I was told there should be numbers on the frame that match the serial number on the car?

If so where are they located?

I am doing a frame off right now

Thanks

The numbers on the frame are in two places, both on the driver's side. One is a few inches forward of the #3 body mount, the second is just forward of the #4 body mount.

If I remember right on my 69 convertible it was on the top of the frame rail above the rear wheel just after the kick up flattens out. Usually hard to see unless it is a clean frame.

The numbers aren't stamped very deep so unless your frame is in cherry condition the numbers may have rusted away. My replacement frame has clear numbers but it is in unusually good condition. The numbers on the original frame rusted away long ago.
