Default 73 door panel question?

Hi guys, Im looking for a good source for a pair of door panels for my 73. Gets a little confusing with all of the price variances across the web, catalogs, and even Ebay. My trim pieces look very good, should I try to transfer them and save a few bucks? Bad idea?
Any help would be appreciated.
Pete

I've been eyeing the set that Willcox has. My trim isn't perfect, so I'd go with the already built door panels. If you're good at interior work and your trim is nice, you can save a couple hundred swapping. If you ready to pull the trigger, I'd see what kind of luck you have getting your old trim off your old panels. Based on your experience and luck doing that, then decide which door panel you need.

In my experience, and a lot of other people's too from what I know, Al Knoch makes the best replacement door panels. You should be able to re-use your existing trim pieces with Knoch's panels - but, give them a call and ask them first (they're really accessible and will answer any questions you have - I've even had Al Knoch himself get on the phone to talk with me).

Swapping the trim isn't difficult, but it's piddly work. Degree of difficulty depends on whether your new door panels have the mounting holes already cut -- some do, some don't.

Since the additional expense for the door panel with mounted hardware isn't all that great, my advice would be to order new panels from Al Knoch with the hardware installed.

We have instructions on how to convert the bare panels to the standard panels on our web site at this link. We do not have the instructions completed yet for doing this on deluxe door panels, but it's not really that hard. It can be time consuming but if you are doing the work yourself, it can save you money! If you have the car in a shop and based on the cost of labor, doing the work then the cost to convert is higher than the cost to purchase the door panels already done!

The link is below for doing the conversion.
