Greetings;
I have come across a 700R4 with serial number CM2/84749 (located pass. side top/aft of trans pan). I am having difficulty locating a web page that gives me the year. It appears to be '82-'85 because of the "CM", but I cannot confirm and either a number prior to the CM has worn off or it was never there. The only reason I am interested, I was given this tranny and woud like to put it in my C3 sometime this winter.

Links would be appreciated or if you have the ID codes, that would be appreciated also.

Regards

Turbo Hydra-Matic 700R4: This 1982 transmission stamping would begin with a "9" (nine) for the 1982 model-year, followed by the vehicle application code "YA", then a three-digit build date code representing the Julian calendar date, ending with a "D" or "N" for work shift produced.

I have a 82 CE and this matches my transmission.
