my last mustang 5.0 was a mid 11 second car with a freshly rebuilt stroker engine, TKO tranny and the whole nine yards. it sold for $8k to a guy in tampa about 400 miles from me. Well the saturday he came to pick it up he was very happy with it, we took it for a 20 min ride and he really beat it and loved it. about 30 min after he left i get a call from him and he says there is no oil preassure, and i'm like shut it off and pull over. i talked him into checking a few things and figured i needed to go see what was up since it was probably something small. well i get there go over the car start checking a few things and end up noticing the oil pump had seized and it's hardened driveshaft had snapped in half. so i tell him to tow it back to my house while i go get a new oil pump and hardened shaft. the car got there at 3pm i finished changing the pump around 12am. usually you'd have to lift the engine out of the car for such a job since the mustangs k-member doesn't let the pan drop much, but with some 2x4s and a jack i managed. any shop would have charged this guy $500+ for this job easily and he would have had to wait till monday to even get to one. he asked me what he owed me and i said a 6 pack next time he was in miami. this was about 2 years ago, every once in a while he emails me asking stuff about the car. he hasn't had a problem with it since. mind you i sold him the car AS IS and i had driven the **** out of it regularly (it was my daily driver). so either it was very bad timing on the pump to let go, or he really did something wrong while driving it. either way i did my part

funny thing 6 months later i bought a ford crown victoria from a guy in tampa and ended up getting screwed big time over $500 in repairs and tittle problems on top of that. guess thats the world we live in
