Default Mucho integrity at CF

Hello fellow CF members..... I have a story to tell.

Two years ago I decided it was time to pursue my old dream of owning a Corvette again. I searched the WWW and found this site. Couldn’t believe the wealth of information that was available here. After reading and following along on many a thread it was time to start the search in earnest. I had decided that I would buy from a long term Forum member and keep my serious searches to that criteria. I finally found a car to my liking that was 5000 miles away. After weeks of back and forth information (over 100 pics) the seller and I came to an agreement. I had basically decided to buy the car sight unseen (with my own eyes) except for pictures and two other forum members that lived close by that had a look at the car for me. Their reports back to me were extremely helpful. (This is some of the integrity I am talking about)

After taking delivery of the car and getting it home I discovered some motor problems. After opening the motor up and finding some fairly serious work needed to be done, I’m thinking, “Oh well” it is a used car and it is always “buyer beware”. The seller was such a great guy to deal with so I thought I would keep him in the loop and ask if he had any ideas. He did have a couple of good suggestions but to my astonishment he also offered to reimburse me for the parts that I may need to fix the motor!!!!!

Here I am over 5000 miles away and I end up dealing with MR INTEGRITY. Thank you SIR. I have come across some special people in the automotive fraternity on the internet (we used to have a P.T. Cruiser and dealt on the web and met at some show and shines) but this one takes the cake. It is a real pleasure to find such a gem of a site with these kinds of people here.

THANK YOU ALL

Excellent story, and it's great to hear that there are still people out there with integrity. You can really get some bad deals if you don't do your homework with due diligence. Looks like you did yours, and with folks who have a real sense of integrity and good will.

Good luck with the vette!!

While I don't deal often with buying things on the internet, I know I am very fortunate to have NEVER had a problem. Nothing but totally honest people that I have dealt with.

Totally agree. People in general usually fail to tell the world about the positives yet are really quick to post the negatives.

That's pretty amazing that he is willing to help out with the repair cost. Isn't that the car you drove over 1,000 miles home without any problems and then pulled the heads a month later because you had a noisey lifter? Kudos to the seller, but I'm not so sure I would take his money.

We always hear about the people who screw over others, but in reality, I have learned first hand that there are some fantastic people on this forum who are extremely honest and willing to help a fellow Corvette owner. In fact, I will go so far as to say that it is the majority of the people on this forum.
I have been on the receving end and have also tried to be sure that I am on the giving end as well.
Let's keep the good going around, there's enough bad out there already.
