Default Misrepresentation?

I was looking on ebay at corvette parts, and came across a guy selling a two tone vette . He claims it's the original paint, but looking at my original dealer brochure, and the Corvette Black Book, they never made a Biege/Dark Brown Corvette in '81'. Am I wrong?, here is the site of the sale .

It's an original option. A few guys here on the forum have them.

Thanks DB, I wasen't sure, and would hate to see somebody get something that's not . I wonder why they never showed that in the Black Book, or the Brochure?. One may never know

Default hmmm . . .

I'm guessing that funky looking western style pin stripe around the front and rear emblem isn't original. . . .is it?

I think that was a dealer installed option. I was working at a Chevy store in '81 and we had a white/red one with a red lower half and pinstripe. Looked hot when new. But that's why you won't see it in the Black Book. /:\

A friend of mine has one of these. He says they were not at the dealers, and for pick up only. There were very few made. I am pretty sure he has the same emblems. Strange color, but to each his own!

There were 4 options for the two-tone:

Silver and Dark Blue
Silver and Charcoal
Beige and Dark Bronze
Autumn Red and Dark Claret

5352 chose the two tone but the sites have no info on how many of each.

I think the contrast has been cranked up a little on the pictures. The camel interior seems a bit dark to others I've seen (like the one in my garage)

got kinda a cowboy theme to it with those colors, dont it?

Yup. My Black Book lists code 50/74. The car should also have a factory tape stripe separating the colors.
