Snagged this off our local rag (San Diego Union/Tribune)

EAST COUNTY: As thundershowers swept through parts of San Diego County yesterday, a lightning bolt struck the backyard of a home east of La Mesa, setting a palm tree on fire.

Burning fronds dropped onto a patio umbrella, scorching it and some chair cushions at the Snyder Road home east of Fuerte Drive in Mount Helix.

A neighbor said he and his wife were watching television about 7 p.m. when lightning flashed and thunder cracked simultaneously.

“It was a beauty. We jumped,” said the neighbor, who asked that his name not be printed. He said the fire mostly burned itself out before firefighters arrived. The people living in the home were not there.

Thunderstorms brought heavy rains to San Bernardino and Riverside counties and light rain to El Cajon, La Mesa, San Diego, Escondido and numerous mountain communities yesterday. Palomar Mountain, which had very little rain, had more than 100 lightning strikes.

Storms were expected to return today. Hot, sticky weather should stay around through Monday. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive-heat warning for today, and it may be extended.

...I'm reasonably certain the judge will toss the case out...they had released him 15 months ago with no charges after 72hours.....then issued a warrant 12 months later...and did not notify him...(his lawyer is local in El Centro..)

We have learned since that lawyers in Imperial County want to bring the DA's office in front of a grand jury on ethics charges...seems there are many issues with the DA office "local rules".....

Hey Joe!
I have not seen the PBY. Since we opened the new place on Palm Canyon last month all I really see is the inside of the bar.
I usually get home about 3:00 am and sleep 'til noon or later.....kinda like a vampire
Drop in for a cold one sometime. I know Rich is coming over in a couple of weeks. It would be great to get as many CF members together as possible.
Best,
Greg
