The door pulls are in line with the handles and are held in place with a single screw. No,, the screw is stock. The plastic water barrier is behind the panel, on top of the metal. must of been removed previously.
You only need the vapor barrier in the door if you are planning on driving it in the rain, using an automatic car wash, or aiming your garden hose at the bottom of the door glass when you wash it yourself. Is was meant to keep water off of the door panels [inside surface]. Most C3's have lost the original clear polyethelene (???) sheeting long ago. You can make one out of a painter's drop cloth [poly sheeting] and some non-hardening caulk to run around the outside edge to hold it in place.
