you are correct the 461`s are on the other motor i purchased the same time as the 327 these heads are 881`s i believe went with the larger cc chambers to lower the compression ratio for pump gas usage!! thanx

I am a Corvette guy but I also drive a 69 El Camino SS clone as a daily driver and I had a Jasper engine in it at the time when this same problem happened to me.I and Jasper Engines do not know what was the root cause of it.The engine was of very low mileage!It was my #1 intake valve.Mine broke the pushrod and damaged the valve stem.I dressed the stem,replaced the pushrod,rocker arm,set the valve clearence and all seemed good,installed valve cover and was off and running,well it happened again.I contacted Jasper Engines even though it was out of warranty and I had to remove the head and have them redo the valve.Actually they performed a complete valve job on the head and gave me new rocker arms that have guides on either side of rocker arm face that seats on valve stem,they act as a track if you will to keep rocker on the stem.Judging by photos looks like some neglect on oil care,but overall before you had this problem how did the engine run?If you were happy with its performance at least try to repair the damage you have by replacing the pushrod rocker arm you may or may not be successful with this maintenance proceedure.If it works for now your up an running,if not you are going to have to make choices as to removing the head and finding a good machine shop for a valve job.And if you do one head judging by your oil condition in the photos do both heads at least.Later Gene

ok my dads gonna give me the money for some new heads.

would it be cheaper to get these heads completely rebuilt and machined by a shop or just get new ones?

if i get them machined wont the compression go down? and i will lose power.

and for new heads, what brand,price, and cc would you recommend. keep in mind cheap and i dont need a ton of power just more tan i have right now

Actually, if you mill the heads a bit, it will increase the compression just a tad [reduce the head volume a little]. You won't notice much improvement in performance from that, but you will from the refresh work or from new heads.

well i decided to wait on new heads and just do a quick fix. before this problem the motor ran great even though it looks so bad. before me the car was not taken care of very well, which led to such bad buildup. ive flushed the engine several times and it has helped but still looks bad.

to fix the problem, i looked for some type of guideplate to press into the guidehole that is bad, but i couldnt find anything. ends up i just started using those self aligning rockers like 69elky. works fine now and no problems. sometime soon ill replace heads but for now this works great

Is the valve stuck? That many years without running could do it. That would also bend the push rod. Rotate the engine by hand and check for push rod movement and cam lobe problems.
