Has anyone here had there original rims sandblasted and powder coated? If so, what is the correct color of powder coat to achieve a factory look?

Argent silver is correct, but original wheels were painted. Don't know what the match would be for powder coat.

I asked the guy who is powdercoating my frame about this. He has a few stock silvers, but none match the green tint in the Argent Silver. He does not have the ability to custom tint a color, maybe another powdercoater does. If you find one, please let me know.

I'm curious about this as well ... I put aftermarket ralleys on my 80 & 81 vettes, never cared for the wheels that came with those years, but they're more of a primer color than the correct silver. You don't notice it much on the road but next to the 68 you can tell it's quite darker. Would like to paint or powder coat in something closer to the correct color.

my 68 AG's were powdercoated. originals were painted, and the inner portions were black. i'm not sure what the color was he used. i know the resto guy had to send the test pieces back several times until he achieved that argent green /silver color. they look great, but not really ncrs correct in so far as they should be painted and again, half black. depends on what you want. i just wanted a factory color that will last well beyond me......so there it is, it can be done. i'll try to find out where he had it done.

Thanks, but remember: the codes are for paint, not powder. Seems to me the coater ought to be able to get a match.
