Stupid question
But, are all C3s considered Stingrays? was it in reference to the body style or something else I'm not aware of?

No. The '68s do not have Stingray badges; the 77-82 models do not have Stingray fender scripts.

While the 68's do not have the Stingray badges they are still considered Stingrays. All of GM's promotional literature proclaimed them to be Stingrays.
Does it really matter though

Never did understand why they put Stingray on them when they were supposed to look like a shark?

Same here....I have always considered a Stingray something between a 63 and 67....C3's are sharks.

Technically speaking, the C2 term is "Sting Ray". Wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble with Pro Team.
C3's are "Stingray", whether they got the script saying so or not. It's only a small matter of semantics, so please get over it already.
But, the most fitting nickname for any C3 is definitely "Shark".

Hehehe, I thought Tiburon was Spanish for Hair Dresser's Car
