Yeah that thought crossed my mind but it is really just front damage of the nose, quarters, radiator, and all the other little gear up front... but nothing behind the radiator except where the quarter panels splintered off the inner fender shrouds.... besides I really like the t-tops and removable rear window.... very unique...

make sure that you check all of the car from front to rear very closely for fiberglass damage. a shock wave can do damage far away from the point of impact . . .
God bless you are here to "talk" about it as others have said. Sounds like it's gonna be back on the road even better than before though. Takes awhile for the shakes to stop though doesn't it? Best of luck getting her back together and I'm glad you walked away from it.
Sorry about the car, but you were actually very very lucky!
Actually his brakes were too effective. He locked them up on a slick surface and was unable to regain control. Happened to me once in a curve with sand on it. Brakes locked up, and I slid right into the curb.
I have since upgraded the suspension and have much better tires.
hydroplaned... just couldn't stop her... slid right through an intersection and wacked a parked car... bad deal...
FLUIDS.... the red fluid isn't mine!!!! that is from a van parked next to mine... it's trans fluid.... but again not mine... the green is mine though... still leaking coolant from the busted radiator...
been speaking with the claims adjuster at my insurance... she was great, said her grandmother has a 1975 stingray and she just can't imagine what I am feeling.... i half heartedly laughed and then asked if she had even seen a grown man cry? She told me to start looking at where to get her fixed.... i have my choice and everything will be taken care of. The adjuster will inspect it no later than Friday. I am kinda worried though... will the adjuster even realize the pricing of some of the parts????? Should I leave him a copy of MidAmerica's catalog?

The best way is to have a corvette body shop come over or tow it to them to get a written estimate. Most insurance co will NOT have parts for a car that old in their database.
I was rear ended last month and the estimate from the shop was $8,800. The other drivers ins co came by, I handed him the estimate and a week later I had a check for $8,800.
