Default Anybody Interested?

When I saw how one member had the inside of his hood painted high gloss black on his '81', I had to have that done . The other thing I noticed was he had the '81' cross flags under the word 'Corvette' . I have a friend that is going to shoot mine this winter, but the other item was a decal of the '81' cross flags . I knew of one company that could do this and I know it would be done right . They told me they had it in file but it would take about two hours for them to set it up again at $75. an hour . Then they told me it would be more economical to have a large run of this item . I only need one for my hood, but thought if enough people would be interested, I would order a bunch of them. I'm going to have mine made 12" wide, so they would all be this size. I'm going to write them to find out what it would cost for this size decal and how much I would save by buying a bunch of them. If anybody would like to see the work this company does, just go to: www.speedgraphics.net . . They can do any size, so if anybody wants a price of a different size, please let me know. I'm not trying to make money on these, just want to save some money, and share these items with other people for only shipping cost . I had my PT-Cruiser done with one of their torn decals, and it looks great. I've had many people ask if it was painted on, plus it's 3-D .

I gotta ask... why do you put apostrophes on both sides of '81?

I've seen people put one on the wrong side; (81') they do that all the time, but I've never seen this before. Is it a local thing?

Interesting that the guy types a lengthy question and the only reply is his use of an apostrophe?

The hood he is referring to is mine ( see my pictures) and the lettering is available from most of the Corvette supply houses. The logo I had made by a local sticker shop in about 10 minutes.

I agree Dean , I thought the same thing, what does that have to do about the thread. I love what you did to your hood and I wanted to do the same to mine. How much did it cost for the decal and will they do another one? . I know I can get the lettering at the corvette shop in town so the only thing was the decal.

Yep, Dean's hood, and I personally really like when under the hood is painted. It compliments the rest of the car nicely.

Maybe he thought the apostrophe was not a stock option.

Or maybe that person was an english teacher, and I was being graded. I didn't know there was going to be a test at the end of my thread

I am a little busy this week but will see what the guy can do next week. BTW they are not expensive buy not perfect either.

The real reason for the sticker is so no one will notice my shiny carb

Sorry. Couldn't think of a question that had to do with putting vinyl stickers under a Corvette hood.

Shouldn't have asked. Weird stuff like that interests me.

I'm in if it is within reason. Maybe repost with a more specific thread title. I can't beleive more wouldn't want something like this. Nice bling - bling. I've been looking for a sticker just like this to mount on my hood. Wonder if it would cost anymore to print some smaller emblems on the same sheet . . . I'd like some about 3' wide and maybe put one distributor cover. I'm not a big sticket person, but a few placed in the right places can really add a lot to the looks of your engine compartment.

I would be interested too, depending on price of course. Maybe a second one for the toolbox also!

Hmmmm...I also painted the underside of my hood gloss black on my '72 (notice the correct apostrophe) - I wonder if I can get a large sticker of the crossed flags emblem?

When they type '81, they mean 1981. The ' stands for "19." When they type 81' they mean 81 feet long. The ' is the symbol for foot when it follows a number (" is inches). I usually assume they are talking about a Vette limo, i.e. "a cool 75' Vette" meaning a cool 75 foot long Vette...right?

I got the quote for the cross flag decal. If I order a dozen of the 6" x 15" size, they will cost $11.27ea.. If I order 24, it'll cost $6.78 ea. . Hope this helps with any interested members. I'll check on this thread throughout the next week and see how many I'll order, but i'm thinking of ordering 24 for now .

I like the look of Dean's hood. But don't we need the heat blanket under these hoods so the top paint is protected?

I asked that same question. Stock hoods might see more problems because of the limited clearance but after market hoods with more room don't seem to have a problem with heat.
