Default Price check please...

what do you think....

1969 coupe. numbers matching, 4 speed, leather interior, 350/350, AC.
1 owner car. Supposedly in showroom condition.

I haven't called on it yet to get any more info. It's about a 4 hour drive from me and I may check it out...but if I the seller isn't very flexible on price I might not bother. Asking price is 25900 obo. "IF" it's in the condition stated I'm thinking more like low 20's. What do you think?

Hard to say untill you see it or the owner emails you pics or video of EVERY aspect of the car. If it's a true #'s matching AC car, great mechanicals and paint, lots of documentation and maintenance reciepts then that price sounds about right. Make sure the frame & birdcage are solid.
Good luck.

If it is what it says it is, then I think it's an excellent buy. No way to tell for sure without pics and a look under it and at the birdcage.

Someone posted this from Corvette Magazine a week or so ago.

Yep, hard to say 25900 OBO. Anywere in the 20k to 25k range is good depending on documentation and condition. She's gotta be real to get the bucks. Good luck

Just curioius.... original owner selling? (that's what 1 owner means to me) or only one owner besides the seller (yeah, right sure, uh huh! )

showroom condition? They looked pretty darn nice in the showroom. Does he really mean showroom condition or is it like, heck, the car is 40 years old, you have to expect some chipped and faded paint and cracked leather... that kind of showroom condition?

Also, how many miles?

"matching numbers" + 1 owner + "showroom condition" to me would mean just about all original parts, easily NCRS top flight, Bloomington Gold, and yes it would certainly be worth $25k! 350 hp + A/C ?

I'm not sure about your questions. I'm going to call to get more details . By one owner I assume he means he bought it new in 69 and has been the only one to own the car....but it will be something i ask. As for mileage...74k. It's a 4 hour drive to see the car so i'm going to request plenty of pics before making the drive. "showroom condition" and 26K for a coupe I would expect the engine compartment to be so clean i could eat off of it. If all looks good i will make the trip and take a look and hopefully talk him down

If it really is as advertized, you'd better have $26k with you when you go, or you'll be kicking yourself in the *** later if you lose the car.

I wouldn't use up too much time trying to "talk him down".

That sounds like a very fair price for a '69 350/350 Leather 4 spd car with a/c.
Power steering and/or brakes would have been nice.

Keep us posted (with pix), and Good Luck!

The '69 coupe 350/350 part isnt all that exciting from a price standpoint, but the "1 owner, showroom condition" is something else entirely. $26k is way high for a coupe normally, but if the thing really is a one owner DOCUMENTED car in showroom condition, then yeah, its a Survivor/Gold Certfied car ready to go, and you have to throw the money at him.

PS, don't clutter your head with pages from Corvette Magazine. Think bird cage liner, along with the NADA guides.

Make sure you get it on a lift and inspect the frame (with plenty of light) for rust or damage!. Also look inside the gas tank with a flashlight for water or rust.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I finally got in touch with the seller and found out HE bought it from the original owner...so that makes it a 2 owner car in my book . Also found out it has a 1970 engine in it, so this went from an over priced coupe to a really over priced coupe IMO.
And so the search continues...
