Saw this in an ad for an engine the other day. I know there are a lot of collectors on this forum so I thought I would ask. Here is part of the ad that I read-
"We have resoures to have this block broached and stamped to match your car! Correct Broach lines and Genuine GM number Dies. For collecting purpouse only. Act quick- this item is for sale nationally and will sell fast! "
I have not been paying that much attention to the collectors market and this really caught me by surprise. Is something that is now common or is this guy an idiot for advertising that he will alter numbers?

Unfortunately, there are a lot of "idiots" doing this all the time. If you boil away all of the justification babble, it's just plain fraud!
You can easily see for yourself - just look at how many "435 Horse, 427, Tri-Power" cars there are available then check how many were actually made......
