Default Damn it's always sumthin' !!

Got in the Vette today for the first time all week that I got a chance to drive her. It's a gorgous 75* afternoon with no clouds overhead, and a few on the horizon. Nice cool breeze. They predicted rain for tonight and the whole weekend, so I figured I'd stretch the stroker's legs this afternoon.

Pulled her out of the garage and smelled fuel right away. Look under the hood & there's a puddle of gas under the fuel pump ...

Yea I've done a few hundred small block Chev fuel pumps (did heavy line & tune work for 20 years) ... and yes I have done one on this car too. I built the stroker and dropped it in the car a few years ago ... and the fuel pump died right after I ran it long enough to break in the cam.

It was all clean and perrddy then though; now it's not so nice under there

Funny,

Had the same thing happen to me last year.
I order a new fuel pump, while waiting for it to come I loosen the hard line retighten it and it still leaks. I did it a second time and it has not leaked. I kep the fuel pupm of the shelf for when it stats again!

Drove mine for the first time after doing some work on it this week. Took it out to lunch, and the ignition switch quit on me. So.... a new switch on the way, and I'll drop the starter out as well. Nothing but fun fun fun. I just want to actually drive the damn thing for more than a day or two at a time
