The speaker box is installed, but not finished. I'm waiting for the buffers for the 4x6's before I wire them in . It fits snug and I think it looks great . I'm going to fill the box with batting material so it sounds more solid . It took alot of hours to design, but it was worth it, and it fit so nice . Here are a few pictures of it in my '81
that looks awesome. i built a similar set up in mine that ill post a pic of tomorrow ...but is that the old speaker mounts i can see at the top and a 1 inch gap at the bottom?
I'm going to be making other options for this box Jim, I'll be starting today on other temp plates for the face, even one with a center compartment . The two 6.5:" round will be one of the options .
I can try it and let people know. There is at least 3" under the box, so I'm not sure. There are many things I'll have to check before I build these for other people
Yes Gingerbreadman, those are the original speaker brackets you see. I removed the speaker covers so the box would set back more. It would be even better to remove the brackets so it fits flush with the back .
