My 76 a/c works fairly well. That being said my only complaint is the fan speed. It has three speeds and when pushed all the way to the right (if their was a 4th position) it goes off. The hi speed 3rd position seems kinda low. It gets cool but is this normal or should it be blowing hard. And if this is normal is their any replacement fan that would do a better job? Ive got it torn apart and if so I wanna make the changes now.
Here's a post I created a while ago,, think it adress the problem. What is happening is that the fan is going to it's default "off" speed, which is low.
hope this isnt dumb. So I should have a higher speed((more than 3)? If I follow the instructions in the link and do the fix? Gonna follow up tomorrow. Thanks

Yep, it shoulde fix 90% of the problems out there. Should have a super high speed all the way to the right. Check your fuse and fuse holder,, it just below and in front of the master cylinder. There are other possible causes like a bad high relay or a bad wire from consul switch, but this is the most likely cause. take a look.
Also, they slightly changed the wiring and wire colors to the relay in later years,, so your relay may look different, but them power wire to the relay stayed Orange I think,, in any case, even if it's red on your car,, there is no way to miss identify it, it has the fuse from the drivers side power point, on the horn relay stud.
